WWI IN HARROGATE - WOMEN AND CHILDREN ON THE HOME FRONT: Dr Paul Jennings. WWI was one of the deadliest global conflicts in history. Fighting occurred throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific, and parts of Asia. But what was it like for those left at home? Paul’s talk looks particularly at the experiences of Harrogate’s women and children during the conflict.
